SentryWorld is an 18-hole public parkland golf course in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, developed by Sentry Insurance and opened to the public on August 30, 1982. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the original course.
A major 2013-14 reconstruction was overseen by Jones and executed by Bruce Charlton and Jay Blasi, with substantial changes to greens, bunkering, tees and routing; the course returned to public play after the work. Published USGA material lists the championship course at 7,237 yards, although tournament setups can vary in both yardage and par. S.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 7,237 yards. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, the course originally opened in 1982. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Practice Area, Golf Cart Rental, Club Storage, Pro Shop, Restaurant, Golf Simulator, Inn.
Sentry Insurance developed SentryWorld as part of a 200-acre sports and recreation complex in Stevens Point. Robert Trent Jones Jr. was commissioned to create the championship golf course, which opened to the public on August 30, 1982 as Wisconsin's first upscale public golf facility.
After decades of play, ageing infrastructure led to a comprehensive project beginning in 2013. Jones oversaw the work while Bruce Charlton and Jay Blasi led the detailed redesign. Greens were updated, bunkers reduced and reshaped, new tees added and several holes changed materially.
