Golf Course Architect
, based near Chicago (Marengo, Illinois). He launched his own design firm in 1984 after working for nine years with established architects Dick Nugent and Ken Killian, and later added a construction arm (Golf Creations) in 1987.
Lohmann served as president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects in 1998–1999. In Wisconsin, he designed Bishops Bay Country Club in Middleton, as well as Whispering Springs Golf Club and Cedar Creek Country Club, among others.
His firm was later renamed Lohmann Quitno Golf Course Architects to reflect the elevation of his longtime associate Todd Quitno to senior vice president of design.
