The course is a 9-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 29, 1,426m (1,560 yards), course rating 29.6 and slope rating 92. The course was designed by Trevor Stevenson. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Function Centre, Golf Club Hire, Catering Kitchen.
A nine-hole course built on farmland rather than laid out by a professional architect, JTee's occupies a modest place among Otago's golf courses, filling a specific niche as a walk-up, no-membership course between Dunedin's airport and its city centre.
Trevor Stevenson, a local farmer, developed the course during the 1990s on a 9.6-hectare block of the Taieri Plain, the flat agricultural land around Mosgiel, south of Dunedin. Rather than serving a members' club, it was built to be accessible to anyone who wanted to play, without joining a club or paying a membership fee.
The layout runs to a par of 29 over nine holes, playing about 1,560 yards from the main tees, with a shorter set of red tees also available. It is pitched at a wide range of golfers, from beginners taking up the game to established players working on their short game — the compact, par-3-heavy layout rewards repetition of short approach shots and putting rather than long hitting.
JTee's has since grown to combine the course with a function centre, adding a catering kitchen and event space used for weddings, corporate golf days, meetings, and community gatherings — a diversification reflected in many small New Zealand courses that have broadened beyond green fees to stay viable. The business remains family owned and operated.
