Myrtlewood Golf Club is a 36-hole public facility in central Myrtle Beach comprising the Palmetto and PineHills courses. The property's first course opened in 1966 as The Pines. It was later substantially redesigned by Arthur Hills and reopened in 1993 as PineHills; the club describes it as Hills' only Grand Strand design.
The Palmetto Course opened in 1973 and is an Edmund Ault design, notable historically as the first Myrtle Beach-area course to play along the Intracoastal Waterway. Both courses have undergone more recent improvement programmes. PineHills completed a comprehensive bunker renovation overseen by architect Dan Schlegel, including reshaping, new drainage and bunker liners, while Myrtlewood has also carried out greens work.
The course is a 36-hole golf course. The course was designed by Edmund Ault. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Clubhouse, Restaurant, Bar, Pro Shop.
Myrtlewood became the Grand Strand's first multi-course golf property. Its original Pines Course opened in 1966, followed by the Edmund Ault-designed Palmetto Course in 1973.
Arthur Hills substantially redesigned The Pines, and the course reopened as PineHills in 1993. More recent work has included greens and bunker projects, with Dan Schlegel overseeing a comprehensive PineHills bunker renovation.
Myrtlewood continues to operate Palmetto and PineHills as two separate public 18-hole courses from a shared facility.
