Port Sorell Golf Club is located in Tasmania, Australia. The course is situated approximately 200 metres from Freers Beach and adjacent to the Shearwater Resort. It features a total of nine holes, with the first six holes being sand-based and resembling a typical links course, while the remaining three holes play differently as they are further from the beach.
The course is known for its deep bunkers surrounding most greens, which can pose challenges, especially when playing close to the bunker lips. The greens are typically speedy with subtle breaks, making putting difficult, particularly in windy conditions. The club was formed in 1980 after a public meeting to gauge interest in creating a separate club on the existing links, and it began operations with a lease on the course.
