About Sand Canyon Country Club

Sand Canyon Country Club is a public 27-hole golf facility at 27734 Sand Canyon Road in Santa Clarita, California. The property began as Robinson Ranch Golf Club, originally designed as 36 holes by father-and-son architects Ted Robinson Sr. and Ted Robinson Jr.

The club's current history dates the original design to 1999, while contemporary records place the opening of the original courses in 2000. Drought and the 2016 Sand Fire preceded a major change under owner Steve Kim, who acquired full control in 2016 and subsequently rebuilt the property as the 27-hole Sand Canyon Country Club. The present configuration consists of three nine-hole courses: Mountain, Valley and Desert.

The course is a 27-hole golf course. Designed by Ted Robinson Sr and Ted Robinson Jr, the course originally opened in 1999. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Pro Shop, Café, Golf Lessons, Clubhouse, Banquet Hall, Dining.

Origins

The golf property was created as Robinson Ranch Golf Club, with Ted Robinson Sr. and Ted Robinson Jr. responsible for the original architecture.

The current club history describes the 36-hole complex as being crafted in 1999, while contemporary records indicate the original Mountain and Valley courses opened for play during 2000.

Did You Know?
The property originally operated with 36 holes before being reconfigured to 27 after drought and the 2016 Sand Fire.

Development

Businessman Steve Kim initially held a minority investment in Robinson Ranch and acquired the remaining ownership in April 2016. Severe drought and the Sand Fire of 2016 were followed by substantial rehabilitation. The Robinson Ranch name was replaced by Sand Canyon Country Club, and the formerly 36-hole operation emerged as the current 27-hole Mountain, Valley and Desert configuration.

Today

Sand Canyon operates as a public golf facility with no membership requirement. The three nines are managed in rotating combinations, supported by a shaded 28-bay practice range, putting green, golf shop, instruction, café and clubhouse event spaces.
