Santa Teresa Golf Club is an 18-hole public course in the foothills of south San Jose, opened in 1960 and designed by George E. Santana. The front nine plays across comparatively flat, open ground, while the back nine climbs into the surrounding foothills with real elevation change and valley views.
It plays to a par 71 across 6,742 yards from the back tees, rated 72.1 with a slope of 126. Robert Muir Graves reworked the eighteen-hole layout in 1982. The club also operates Shorty, a par-27 nine-hole short course added in 1996, alongside a driving range and instruction programs aimed at golfers of all ages and skill levels.

Santa Teresa Golf Club has been part of South San Jose's civic landscape since 1960, when architect George E. Santana laid out the original 18 holes in the foothills bordering what is now Santa Teresa County Park. Six decades on, it remains one of the longer-running public courses in the South Bay.
Santana's routing plays up a natural contrast in the land: the front nine unfolds across comparatively flat, open ground, while the back nine climbs into the surrounding foothills, adding real elevation change and valley views to the back half of the round. In 1982, architect Robert Muir Graves reworked the eighteen-hole layout — consistent with his broader career focus on accessible, site-responsive public course design across California. The club expanded again in 1996 with the addition of Shorty, a par-27, nine-hole short course designed by Gene Bates, giving the facility a second, more casual format alongside the main course and driving range.
