Development

Former club president Merv Gossage designed the second nine. Its official opening on May 23, 1976 completed the present 18-hole layout. The club has retained sand greens while developing reticulated fairways and using permanent dams as part of the course infrastructure.

Today

Serpentine remains unusually accessible: the public can play on nearly every day of the year, generally without a booking, using an honesty-box or EFT system to pay green fees.
