Shoreline Golf Links is an 18-hole public course in Mountain View, California, sitting within the 750-acre Shoreline at Mountain View park on the edge of San Francisco Bay. The site is built almost entirely over a former municipal landfill — the land was too costly to raise with imported fill, so it was instead capped and operated as a landfill before becoming parkland — a fact that shapes the course's flat, open, distinctly links-style character today.
Robert Trent Jones Jr.'s firm designed the course, which opened in 1983 and was remodeled in 1986-87 specifically to lean into a true links feel: firm turf, few trees, and constant exposure to bay winds. The course plays to a par of 72 across a wide range of tees, from 5,437 yards at the forward Red markers to 6,996 yards from the Black tips (course rating 74.0, slope 126), with sixteen acres of water hazards and a 50-acre sailing lake bordering the 10th hole.
