About The Springs Club

The Springs Club is a public nine-hole golf course at 629 Forrest Road in Forrestdale, Western Australia. The site had operated as Armadale Golf Course for more than 30 years before Golf Oracle took over operations in late 2015. A major redevelopment began in July 2016, funded by the City of Armadale, Golf Oracle and a Western Australian Department of Sport and Recreation grant.

Jeff Lane Turf Consultancy worked with Golf Oracle on the new design, with a brief focused on modernising the old facility while retaining the site's natural features. The approximately $1 million project substantially rebuilt the golf course rather than making only minor alterations. The Springs remains open to public daily-fee play, offering nine-hole and 18-hole rates, with 18-hole rounds using the nine-hole routing twice.

The course is a 9-hole parkland golf course. Designed by Jeff Lane Turf Consultancy, the course originally opened in 2016. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Practice Facilities, Putting Green, Pro Shop, Golf Cart Hire, Clubhouse, Function Facilities.

Origins

The Forrest Road site served local golfers as Armadale Golf Course for more than 30 years. Golf Oracle commenced operating the property in late 2015 and concluded that the ageing layout required a comprehensive modernisation.

Did You Know?
The 2016 modernisation was a roughly $1 million project jointly supported by public and private funding.

Design Philosophy

Jeff Lane Turf Consultancy and Golf Oracle developed a new design intended to create an accessible golf course capable of tournament-standard presentation while highlighting the natural characteristics of the land.

Development

Construction of the approximately $1 million upgrade began in July 2016. Funding came from the City of Armadale, Golf Oracle and a grant from the Western Australian Department of Sport and Recreation. The work was extensive enough that the operator describes the result as effectively a new course compared with the old Armadale facility.

Today

The Springs Club operates as a public nine-hole facility in Forrestdale under Golf Oracle, with online bookings, practice facilities, cart hire and nine- or 18-hole play.
