Vattanac Golf Resort's East Course is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course in Phnom Penh designed by Faldo Design under Sir Nick Faldo. It was the first of Vattanac's two championship courses to open, beginning play on 17 May 2019. The longest documented scorecard measures 7,467 yards.
Faldo's routing uses extensive water, bunkering and large sandy areas as strategic elements, while Cambodian cultural references are incorporated into the landscape through scale representations of Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple and Preah Vihear Temple. The East Course is distinct from Vattanac's later West Course and the separate floodlit Dragon Turn night layout. Visitors can book the East Course, and the resort's standard green-fee packages include a caddie and buggy.
The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,828m (7,467 yards). Designed by Sir Nick Faldo, the course originally opened in 2019. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include golf academy, driving range, TrackMan teaching rooms, pro shop, golf carts, caddies, Restaurant, tea houses.
Vattanac Golf Resort commissioned Faldo Design to create two separate championship courses on a large site outside central Phnom Penh. The East Course was the first of the pair completed and opened on 17 May 2019.
Faldo Design approached the East as a strategic layout, using water, creative bunkering, sandy areas and multiple teeing options. Cambodian architectural and historical references were incorporated into the landscape to give the course a distinct local identity.
The East Course was followed by the West Course in October 2020. Vattanac subsequently expanded the overall golf operation with academy facilities and a separate floodlit Dragon Turn night course.
The East Course received the World Golf Awards title of Cambodia's Best Golf Course in 2024.
The East operates as one component of Vattanac's multi-course resort, which is managed by Troon Golf. Visitors can reserve tee times, with standard playing packages including green fee, caddie and buggy.
