Origins

Vattanac Golf Resort was developed with two separate championship courses by Nick Faldo. The East Course was the first to open, in May 2019, followed by the West Course in October 2020. The West therefore represents the second stage of the resort's principal golf development.

Did You Know?
The West Course incorporates Cambodian cultural references including a statue of King Jayavarman VII and a representation of the Terrace of the Elephants.

Design Philosophy

The West Course differs from its sister layout through undulating fairways and Paspalum greens. Water is a recurring strategic feature, including Dragon Lake in the centre of the course. Five tee positions, ranging from 4,935 to 7,249 yards, were incorporated to accommodate a broad range of playing abilities.

Development

The West Course joined the already-operating East Course in October 2020. Vattanac subsequently developed night golf as another distinct playing option at the resort.

Today

The West remains a separate 18-hole championship course within Vattanac Golf Resort and should not be merged with either the East Course or Night Course in course records.
