Wexford Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 parkland course on Mulgannon Hill overlooking Wexford town and harbour. The club was founded in 1961 and affiliated with the Golfing Union of Ireland in 1966, but its present layout is the result of a much later redevelopment. After the club acquired an additional 47 acres in 2001, architect Jeff Howes undertook a comprehensive redesign.
Four years of work culminated in the formal opening of the rebuilt course and new clubhouse in September 2007. The current Blue course measures 5,950 metres, with White, Green and Red alternatives. The hilltop terrain gives the course significant changes in elevation and views toward Wexford Harbour, the Blackstairs Mountains and surrounding countryside.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 71, 5,950m. The course was designed by Jeff Howes. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Pro shop, Clubhouse, Bar, Restaurant, Changing rooms.
Wexford Golf Club was founded in 1961 and affiliated to the Golfing Union of Ireland in 1966. Its early golf was considerably smaller in scale than today's course, beginning with land acquired for a par-three layout before progressing through nine-hole and 18-hole configurations.
A major transformation began after 47 additional acres were acquired in 2001. Jeff Howes was given scope for a comprehensive redesign, creating new holes and reshaping the existing course. Approximately four years of work and substantial investment culminated in the formal opening of the redeveloped course and new clubhouse in September 2007.
The modern course is an 18-hole, par-71 parkland layout on Mulgannon Hill. The club continues to welcome visitors and operates a modern clubhouse with restaurant, bar, changing facilities and professional services.
