Finca Cortesín is an 18-hole, par-72 resort course at Casares on Spain's Costa del Sol. Cabell B. Robinson designed the layout, which the Royal Spanish Golf Federation records as founded in 2006.
The longest published scorecard used here measures 6,736 metres, with additional White, Gold, Teal and Red tee sets. The routing crosses rolling terrain above the Mediterranean and uses broad fairways, bunkering and substantial changes in elevation. Finca Cortesín became an international tournament venue soon after opening, hosting the Volvo World Match Play Championship in 2009, 2011 and 2012.
The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,736m (7,366 yards). Designed by Cabell B. Robinson, the course originally opened in 2006. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving range, Practice facilities, Putting green, Chipping area, Golf academy, Pro Shop, Restaurant, Club hire, and 1 more.
Finca Cortesín's course was developed as part of the Casares resort in the mid-2000s. The Royal Spanish Golf Federation records the club's foundation in 2006 and credits American architect Cabell B. Robinson with the design.
Robinson routed the course across rolling terrain, using elevation changes, broad landing areas and strategic bunkering. Landscaping by Gerald Huggan helped integrate the course into the surrounding Mediterranean environment.
International tournament golf arrived quickly. The Volvo World Match Play Championship moved from Wentworth to Finca Cortesín in 2009 and returned in 2011 and 2012. The resort later prepared for the 2023 Solheim Cup, further establishing the course as a major match-play venue.
The course's tournament record includes winners Ross Fisher, Ian Poulter and Nicolas Colsaerts in its three Volvo World Match Play editions. Its international profile increased again when Europe and the United States tied 14-14 in the 2023 Solheim Cup, allowing Europe to retain the trophy.
Finca Cortesín remains an 18-hole resort course with extensive practice and teaching facilities, including a Nicklaus Academy. The resort provides GPS buggies, range balls and practice access as part of its golf service.
