Pine Meadow Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 public course in Mundelein, Illinois, measuring 7,221 yards from its longest tees. The property began as a private course for the University of St. Mary of the Lake and was originally designed by William Flynn in 1927.

After the Jemsek family leased the property in 1982, Joe Lee, Rocky Roquemore and Joe Jemsek redesigned the course before Pine Meadow opened to the public in August 1985. Golf Digest named it the No. 1 new public course in America in 1986.

The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 7,221 yards. Designed by William Flynn, the course originally opened in 1985. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Grass Practice Area, Putting Green, Chipping Area, Practice Bunker, Golf Lessons, Pro Shop, Junior Membership.

Origins

The site's golf history began in 1927 when William Flynn designed a private course for the University of St. Mary of the Lake. Flynn was already established as one of the important American architects of his era, with work that included courses such as Shinnecock Hills and Merion.

Development

The property was leased to the Jemsek family in 1982. Joe Lee, Rocky Roquemore and Joe Jemsek subsequently redesigned the course, and Pine Meadow opened to public play in August 1985. The change transformed a private institutional course into a public-access golf operation.

Recognition

Golf Digest named Pine Meadow the No. 1 new public golf course in America in 1986. The club states that it has continued to appear among leading public-access courses in Illinois.

Today

Pine Meadow remains an 18-hole public golf course with a particularly extensive golf-learning and practice complex.
