Pupuke Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-70 course at Campbells Bay on Auckland's North Shore. The club dates to 1914 and occupies part of Centennial Park, with one portion of the routing moving through native bush and another opening towards the Hauraki Gulf. Current published scorecard data gives the Blue course at 5,954 yards, with White at 5,665 and Yellow at 5,470.
The course combines short par 3s, compact par 4s and three par 5s and uses the property's undulating terrain rather than exceptional length as its main challenge. Pupuke operates as a semi-private club with visitor green fees, member competitions, practice facilities, coaching, a pro shop and clubhouse food and beverage. It is also associated with the development of prominent New Zealand players, notably Lydia Ko, who began playing there as a child, and Michael Hendry.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 70, 5,444m (5,954 yards), course rating 70.1 and slope rating 119. The course originally opened in 1914. It is semi-private, welcoming both members and visitors. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Practice Bunker, Pro Shop, Golf Academy, Golf Lessons, Golf Cart Hire, Clubhouse, and 3 more.
The club traces its beginnings to 1914, when golfers formed the Takapuna Golf Club on leased land reached from Auckland by ferry and then overland transport. The name Pupuke was adopted in 1918.
Members carried out significant early course-building work themselves, cutting fairways and greens through difficult terrain. The surrounding land became Centennial Park in 1940, and the course developed its present mixture of bush-lined and more open holes.
Pupuke combines member golf with visitor play and maintains an active coaching and junior programme. Its connection with Lydia Ko and Michael Hendry has become a prominent part of the club's modern identity.
