Takapuna Golf Course is an 18-hole public golf course at 27 Northcote Road in Hillcrest, Auckland. The Blue course measures 5,333 metres and plays to par 71, with a course rating of 68.9 and slope of 121. The Red course measures 4,959 metres, also at par 71, with a rating of 71.7 and slope of 115.
The site has a long municipal golf history: Auckland Council research records golf on the wider A F Thomas Park land from the early twentieth century and later public-course operation under council ownership and leasing arrangements. The current facility is open to green-fee players and includes a large driving range, pro shop, golf instruction, food and beverage facilities and club membership options. No reliable source identified a named architect for the present routing, so no designer is assigned.

Auckland Council heritage research traces golf on the wider site to the early twentieth century. The land had earlier been wetland and later part of the Takapuna racecourse precinct.
Motorway construction and land changes altered the golf property during the twentieth century. Takapuna City Council later secured the land and maintained public golf through operating leases. The long-term lease expired in February 2025 and moved to a month-by-month arrangement while council planning for A F Thomas Park continued.
The course is widely described as one of Auckland's busiest public golf facilities.
Takapuna remains an 18-hole public course with a large driving range, teaching services and direct public tee-time booking.
