Real Club de Golf de Sotogrande is an 18-hole, par-72 course in Sotogrande, Andalusia, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and inaugurated in 1964. It was Jones's first course in Europe and is accompanied by a separate nine-hole par-3 course.
Spanish federation material lists the main course at 6,492 metres from the black tees, 6,210 metres from white, 5,856 metres from yellow, 5,382 metres from blue/gold and 5,020 metres from red. The layout reflects Jones's strategic approach through long teeing grounds, broad fairways, shaped greens and carefully positioned hazards while remaining playable from multiple distances. The course is private and occupies the Paseo del Parque site close to the Mediterranean.
The course is an 18-hole golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,492m (7,100 yards). Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr, the course originally opened in 1964. It is a private members' club. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Approach Area, Pro Shop, Restaurant, Locker Room.
The course was created during the early development of Sotogrande and inaugurated in 1964, introducing Robert Trent Jones Sr.'s architecture to Europe.
Jones sought to integrate the routing into the existing landscape while providing strategic choices for accomplished players and playable alternatives for higher handicaps. Long teeing grounds, broad fairways and shaped greens are recurring features.
The course has remained one of the historically significant early golf developments on the Costa del Sol, particularly because of its place in Robert Trent Jones Sr.'s international career.
