Origins

Ria Bintan Golf Club was established in 1998 as a golf destination within the Bintan Resorts area. Gary Player designed two distinct layouts: the 18-hole Ocean Course and nine-hole Forest Course.

Did You Know?
In 2009 Ria Bintan became the first golf course in Indonesia to receive Audubon International's Certified Classic and Cooperative Sanctuary certification.

Design Philosophy

Player's routing separates the property into two contrasting environments. The Ocean Course reaches the South China Sea and uses coastal views as part of its setting, while the Forest Course is routed through mature woodland with bunkering defining many of the playing corridors.

Recognition

The club has received repeated regional recognition and has hosted events including the Ria Bintan Open. Its 2009 Audubon certification was a first for an Indonesian golf course.

Today

Ria Bintan remains a 27-hole visitor-accessible golf destination in the Lagoi resort area.
