Strandhill Golf Club is an 18-hole links course on the County Sligo coast. The club was founded in 1931, initially with nine holes. John McAlister of Dublin designed a replacement nine that opened in May 1940, and the present 18-hole configuration opened in 1973 following a redesign undertaken with input from club members.
The current course is par 70 and occupies rolling coastal dunes between the Atlantic and Knocknarea. The club welcomes visitors and publishes a hole-by-hole guide on its official site. Strandhill has continued to modify the layout: a multi-stage development programme began in 2016, initially restructuring bunkers with later plans involving hole lengthening and course re-sequencing.
