Peter Alliss and Clive Clark are credited with the design, which opened in 1992. Published scorecard data lists a 6,500-yard Black course, with White at 6,232 yards, Yellow at 5,800 and Red at 5,264.
The routing occupies the estate surrounding the hotel and is supported by a driving range, practice facilities, pro shop and accommodation. Unlike a members-only country club, visitor tee times are offered alongside resort golf and membership. The property's hotel relationship makes it a resort-style golf destination, but the course itself is more appropriately described as inland parkland rather than links.
