The Golf Course at Adare Manor is an 18-hole, par-72 resort course beside the River Maigue in County Limerick. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the original course, which opened in 1995 and hosted the Irish Open in 2007 and 2008.
The current layout is substantially different: Tom Fazio and his team completely reconstructed the course during 2016 and 2017, and it reopened in April 2018. The Championship configuration measures 7,509 yards. The rebuild included sand-capping the playing areas, extensive drainage, 41 bunkers, Pure Distinction bentgrass greens and SubAir systems on all 18 greens.
The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,866m (7,509 yards). Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr, the course originally opened in 2018. It is open to resort guests. On-site facilities include Driving range, Practice facilities, Pro Shop, Clubhouse, Restaurant, Locker rooms, Caddie service, Club hire, and 5 more.
Championship golf became part of the Adare Manor estate in the 1990s when Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed an 18-hole course that opened for play in 1995. That layout established Adare Manor as a tournament venue and later hosted consecutive Irish Opens in 2007 and 2008.
Tom Fazio's reconstruction was intended to produce a modern tournament course while retaining the estate's mature trees and River Maigue setting. The rebuilt course uses broad sand-capped playing corridors, strategic bunkering, elevated greens and closely mown surrounds rather than deep rough. The design was also engineered around firm playing conditions and event infrastructure.
A complete reconstruction began in March 2016. Over the following 24 months approximately 220,000 tonnes of sand were used, 41 bunkers were created and extensive drainage was installed. Pure Distinction bentgrass was used on the greens and SubAir systems installed beneath all 18.
The Fazio course opened in April 2018.
The rebuilt course was selected to host the 2027 Ryder Cup. The event will mark 100 years since the first Ryder Cup was played in 1927.
Adare Manor operates the course as part of its resort. In 2026, play is restricted to resident guests during a defined May-to-October season. The Championship course measures 7,509 yards at par 72 and mandatory caddies form part of the golf operation.
