Spanish Point Golf Club is a nine-hole links at Spanish Point near Miltown Malbay in County Clare. Golf has been played on the site since 1896, and the club's current 18-hole scorecard is formed by playing the nine-hole layout twice. From the Blue tees that circuit measures 5,387 yards at par 68, with a course rating of 67.2 and slope of 109; Green and Red alternatives are also rated.
The course occupies coastal links ground overlooking the Atlantic and is exposed to the prevailing south-westerly wind. Its official hole guide documents natural dunes, bunkering and elevation changes, with the short eighth/seventeenth known as 'The Terror'. Visitors are welcomed and the club publishes seasonal green fees for both nine and 18 holes.

On-site facilities include Life Membership, Clubhouse, Bar, Changing facilities, Locker rooms, TrackMan studio, Club hire, Pull trolley hire, and 1 more.
Golf at Spanish Point can be traced to 1896, when a nine-hole course associated with the Atlantic Hotel was recorded on the shores of Malbay. Historical records are incomplete, and later club tradition also associates Robert B. Barclay and Captain Ernest Ellis with the club in 1912.
The surviving evidence nevertheless places organised golf at Spanish Point before the turn of the twentieth century.
No individual architect is reliably credited for the original layout. The course developed on natural coastal links ground, using dunes, elevation changes, wind and compact greens rather than a heavily engineered routing. Its nine greens are played twice for an 18-hole round, with separate stroke indexes for the outward and inward circuits.
The club affiliated in 1915 and has continued as a nine-hole course rather than expanding to a separate second nine. Modern investment has included refurbishment of the bar and locker facilities, a covered deck and a TrackMan studio.
The club has received repeated regional recognition as a nine-hole venue, including awards in 2019 and 2024 and a Munster Best Value & Golf Experience award in 2020.
Spanish Point remains a visitor-accessible nine-hole links. Its official booking system allows players to reserve a second circuit when playing 18 holes, and its published 2026 fees explicitly charge the same green fee for nine or 18 holes.
