The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,121m, course rating 72.9 and slope rating 129. Designed by Joseph Lee, the course originally opened in 1990. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Terrace, Apartment, Clubhouse, Pro Shop, Driving Range, Putting Green, Chipping Area, Restaurant, and 1 more.
Joseph Lee designed the course that opened in 1990, incorporating part of the former 27-hole Vilamoura III layout.
Laguna is unusually open for Vilamoura, with strategic water and bunkering rather than dense pine corridors providing much of the challenge. Lakes affect 11 holes and also function as water reservoirs and wildlife habitat.
The course has undergone continuing improvements while retaining its low-lying, water-oriented character.
Laguna is part of the Vilamoura Golf portfolio and shares clubhouse and practice facilities with Millennium.
