Origins

Frank Pennink laid out the Old Course in 1969 during the early development of Vilamoura as a golf destination.

Design Philosophy

Pennink routed the course through established pine woodland, using the trees, gentle changes in elevation and doglegs to define playing corridors.

Development

Martin Hawtree remodelled the course in 1996 while preserving the original routing. The clubhouse and practice offering have also been modernised.

Today

The Old Course now operates with a dedicated club identity, with an 18-hole par-73 layout and its own booking and hospitality operation.
