The Preserve is an 18-hole, par-70 course at Mission Hills Haikou. The resort's current official specification gives a length of 6,535 yards. Brian Curley and Schmidt-Curley Design created it as a comparatively accessible modern layout, with broad fairways, sculpted bunkering and perimeter mounding that feeds balls toward the putting surfaces.
Dense palm planting provides the main landscape framework, giving Preserve a deliberately different appearance from the exposed lava, quarry and sand-dune themes used on other Haikou courses. Its moderate length and wider playing corridors make it one of the less severe full-length courses in the ten-course collection. Preserve is located in the southern cluster of Mission Hills Haikou layouts and shares the resort's clubhouse, practice, academy, equipment-rental and accommodation facilities.
