The Vintage is an 18-hole, par-72 course at Mission Hills Haikou measuring 7,363 yards. Brian Curley and Schmidt-Curley Design conceived it as an interpretation of early-20th-century golf architecture rather than a contemporary resort layout. Mission Hills cites National Golf Links of America, Fishers Island, Maidstone, Chicago Golf Club and Garden City as specific inspirations.
The routing follows the existing terrain through a heavily wooded site, while deliberately old-fashioned architectural devices include geometric shapes, abrupt mounds, pot bunkers, square edges, ridges, blind shots, long narrow bunkers and wicker-basket pins. The course occupies roughly 250 acres and contains 175 bunkers, with average greens of 6,760 square feet. Its walkable green-to-tee relationships and tree-lined fairways further distinguish it from Mission Hills Haikou's more expansive lava-oriented courses.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,733m (7,363 yards). The course was designed by Schmidt & Curley and Brian Curley. It is open to resort guests. On-site facilities include Clubhouse, Golf Shop, Practice Facilities, Golf Academy, Club Rental, Locker Rooms, Restaurants, Resort Accommodation.
The Vintage was developed within Mission Hills Haikou's ten-course Schmidt-Curley programme.
National Golf Links, Fishers Island, Maidstone, Chicago Golf Club and Garden City informed a design based on older architectural forms: blind shots, pot bunkers, abrupt mounds, geometric features and varied green sizes.
The Vintage remains a 7,363-yard par-72 course occupying approximately 250 acres of the Mission Hills Haikou property.
