The current men's course is approximately 5,698 metres and par 72 according to the published scorecard. The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 5,698m (6,231 yards). The course originally opened in 1976. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Putting Green, Golf Professionals, Golf Cart Hire, Club Hire, Pull Buggy Hire, Clubhouse, Bistro, Bar.
The club began in 1976 as the nine-hole Suncoast Beach Golf Club on land leased at a peppercorn rent from the Suncoast Development Company, owned by Felix Parry.
The club purchased its land and clubhouse from Parry in 1983. After incorporation in October 1984, members approved a change of name and the club formally became Mount Coolum Golf Club on 15 April 1985. Growing demand led the club to lease Crown land for another nine holes, which were completed in May 1992.
The course survived severe flooding earlier that year, and later council flood-management work reduced subsequent flood impacts.
Mount Coolum reports about 900 members and roughly 60,000 rounds annually. It has hosted state, amateur and professional events and continues to invest in course projects and practice facilities.
