Origins

Pelican Waters was developed as a Greg Norman-designed championship course on Queensland's Sunshine Coast and was one of Norman's early designs in his home state.

Design Philosophy

Norman has described memorable individual holes as a central design objective at Pelican Waters rather than simply maximising difficulty. The course uses the area's waterways and flat coastal terrain as major strategic elements.

Development

The course later underwent a major reconfiguration and reopening as a newly reimagined Norman design. The clubhouse was renovated in 2023, and the broader practice complex was developed to include a large driving range, advanced short-game area and putting greens.

Recognition

The club states that Pelican Waters has appeared in Australian Golf Digest's Top 100 for more than twenty years and remains within the top tier of Australian courses by national ranking.

Today

From 1 December 2025 the club moved to seven-day public access. It now combines championship golf, extensive practice facilities, membership, public daily-fee play, mini golf and the Cardón restaurant.
