PGA Riviera Maya's Championship Course is an 18-hole, par-72 Robert Trent Jones II design at the Bahia Principe development near Akumal. The course was inaugurated in 2010 and measures 7,272 yards from its longest tees. It forms part of a 27-hole golf complex alongside a separate nine-hole par-three layout.
The championship routing was cut into limestone terrain and integrates native jungle, mangroves, lakes, exposed rock and cenotes. The developer identifies it as the first golf course developed by Piñero. Its combination of natural rock and water is central to the routing rather than being an unrelated landscaping theme, with the course occupying terrain excavated and shaped through a limestone quarry.
