Golf Course Architect
Bruce William Devlin (born October 10, 1937, in Armidale, New South Wales, Australia) is a former professional golfer who shifted into golf course architecture following his playing career. He retired from competitive golf after the 1998 Senior PGA Tour season to focus on his design business, eventually completing more than 150 courses worldwide.
S. designs—including those at Hunters Run in Boynton Beach, Florida—were co‑designed with Robert von Hagge and are concentrated in Texas and Florida.
Before his architectural career, Devlin had a successful playing career, turning professional in 1961 and accruing eight PGA Tour wins, along with more than 40 international victories. As a designer, his work spans Australia, Japan, Scotland, the Bahamas, and the United States, with notable works such as Secession Golf Club in South Carolina, which hosts an annual Devlin tournament.
