Golf Course Architect
G. Hawtree) was an English greenkeeper turned golf course architect who founded the Hawtree design firm in 1912.
He initially gained experience in turf management before expanding into course construction and formation of a consultancy. H.
Taylor in a design‑and‑construction business that produced or remodeled some fifty‑odd courses by the late 1930s. Their collaborations include notable works such as Stratford‑on‑Avon (1924), and a significant remodelling of Royal Birkdale in 1932.
