Mackenzie & Ebert was appointed to reconfigure the Buddon after construction of Carnoustie's Golf Centre affected the original first hole. The redesign removed that hole, combined the former ninth and tenth into a new par-5 ninth and created two new par fours. The revised course officially reopened for the 2014 season.
